First-year Western Kentucky football coach Tyson Helton didn't have to range far to reel in the Hilltoppers' first commitment for the 2020 recruiting class, as South Warren rising senior Colt Jackson announced Saturday on Twitter his plans to sign with the school.
A 6-foot-3, 270-pound offensive lineman, Jackson helped the Spartans cap off a perfect 15-0 season in 2018 with a Class 5A state championship. Jackson started every game for South Warren except the 20-16 victory over Covington Catholic in the state championship, when he was sidelined with a concussion following a car crash in the week leading up to the title game.
