Mike Sanford thinks the Hilltoppers have been plagued this season with some paralysis by analysis.
The Western Kentucky coach said Thursday that when he watched tape of the Toppers’ first two games, he saw what wanted from an effort perspective.
“It hasn’t been for lack of effort,” Sanford said. “Our defense has been incredibly effort filled. What we’ve seen more of on offense is not for a lack of will, determination or want-to.
Sanford said as a result, WKU coaches simplified the Hilltoppers’ game plan this week on offense, defense and special teams.
The coach wants his team playing looser when it opens Conference USA play against Louisiana Tech.
