It’s been nearly 16 months since Leon Allen last played in a game for Western Kentucky.
New Hilltopper coach Mike Sanford wants to see the running back on the field when WKU returns to action this fall.
Sanford spoke Friday in a wide-ranging news conference three weeks and two days after he was hired Dec. 14 to replace former coach Jeff Brohm.
Sanford was talking about different position groups and highlighted running back, where the Toppers must replace program great Anthony “Ace” Wales.
“We have several young and very impressive running backs that are coming up, as well as the potential of seeing where Leon Allen is going into fall camp,” Sanford said.
