USA Basketball posted Thursday morning its final, 12-player U19 roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup. Mitchell Robinson didn’t make the cut.
The incoming Western Kentucky freshman center was among six of the 18 finalists that didn’t make the final squad, which will compete in Egypt next month for the U19 world title. Kentucky’s John Calipari is coaching the team.
Calipari selected two centers: Brandon McCoy (UNLV) and Austin Wiley (Auburn). Future UK teammates Hamidou Diallo and P.J. Washington were both named to the final roster.
The 7-foot-1 Robinson missed the U19 team’s first practice this week in Colorado Springs, Colo.
