Ray Harper may be back in play for a head coaching position.
The website HoopDirt.com reported Monday that the former Western Kentucky men's basketball coach is gaining momentum for the vacancy at Jacksonville State.
Harper, 54, resigned from his post with the Hilltoppers on March 17 after the basketball suspension of guards Fredrick Edmond, Chris McNeal and Marlon Hunter following the outcome of a University Disciplinary Committee hearing on the evening of March 16.
No information concerning the disciplinary charges or outcome has been released by the university to this point because of federal privacy law.
