Western Kentucky quarterback Austin Reed and center Rusty Staats have entered the transfer portal, WKU confirmed to the Daily News on Monday.
Reed earned the starting QB spot in the preseason after transferring from Division II West Florida. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound graduate student threw for 4,249 yards, second nationally, and 36 touchdowns while completing 64.5% of his passes this season. He previously led West Florida to a Division II national championship in 2019, throwing for 4,089 yards and 40 touchdowns.
Reed was named Conference USA offensive player of the week after throwing for 409 yards and six touchdowns in a 59-7 win over Charlotte on Nov.
