Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Sanford has officially been named a candidate for the WKU head coaching vacancy, according to reports from WBKO and the Bowling Green Daily News.
A report from Sports Illustrated stated Sanford was expected to be hired as the next head coach of the Hilltoppers, but the school has yet to make anything official.
Sanford has been at Notre Dame for the past two seasons, serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, and he previously spent one season as the quarterbacks coach at WKU under former head coach Willie Taggart in 2010.
