A few days away from the football field meant studying for finals for most of the Hilltoppers.
It also meant plenty of wedding planning for quarterback Brandon Doughty.
But No. 25 Western Kentucky returned to practice Friday, looking to regain its focus ahead of the Miami Beach Bowl matchup against South Florida on Dec. 21.
"We need to lock back in," Doughty said. "I kind of stressed that in a team meeting earlier today, saying that we've got a lot of distractions with the accolades and everything that's going on and the conference championship. I don't want our team to think this bowl game is just a reward.
