NOTEBOOK: Consistency continues to plague Tops in latest loss

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Deep into the season – deep enough to concern all involved – Western Kentucky is desperate for consistency.

The Hilltoppers (10-10 overall, 2-5 Conference USA) agreed Saturday night that some players simply didn't come ready to compete in an 88-71 loss at Charlotte.

"As a coach, you go into a game, and who do you trust?" WKU coach Ray Harper said. "It makes it difficult. You're always searching and grasping at straws to see who you can trust on that given night. Who you can trust on the offensive end may not necessarily be who you can trust on the defensive end.
