As part of former Western Kentucky men's basketball coach Matt Kilcullen's staff during the magical 1994-95 season that saw the Hilltoppers win an NCAA Tournament game – and before that for two seasons during the program's rise under Ralph Willard from 1990-92 – Christian is all too familiar with great crowds at Diddle.
Christian experienced that sensation again Tuesday, but this time on the opposing bench leading Boston College against the Tops in a first-round NIT matchup.
"I came in 1990, Ralph Willard's first year, and the crowd wasn't like this," Christian said following his team's 79-62 dismantling at the hands of the Hilltoppers.
