Western Kentucky quarterback Brandon Doughty thought his team's convincing win at Florida International last month was supposed to be his big hometown sendoff.
Turns out, he'll get one more chance to say goodbye near home.
The 25th-ranked Hilltoppers' game in the Miami Beach Bowl on Dec. 21 will be one last opportunity to play in front of friends and family for the sixth-year senior Doughty, a native of Davie, Fla.
WKU (11-2) will face South Florida and coach Willie Taggart, who recruited Doughty to Bowling Green as the Tops' coach from 2010-12.
"It's crazy how the Lord works like that," Doughty said.
