Western Kentucky men's basketball coach Ray Harper has been pushing a simile in practice that seems to be catching on with the Hilltoppers.
To Harper, his team is like an idling car – plenty of potential, but no one has stepped on the gas and really made the Tops go yet this season. In the second half of Wednesday's game against Alabama A&M, several Hilltoppers seemed to step forward to sit in the driver's seat as WKU (6-4) roared back from an eight-point deficit for a relatively comfortable 79-70 victory. It marked the first time the Hilltoppers have won two straight this season.
