BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Redshirt sophomore Billy Tom Sargent notched his second victory of the season Tuesday, claiming the win on WKU’s home course in the Kenny Perry Invitational.
Sargent, a native of Georgetown, Ky., fired a 3-under 69 for the second straight round in Tuesday’s finale at The Club at Olde Stone, holding off Eastern Kentucky’s Will Sallee by two strokes with an 8-under, three-round total of 208 (70-69-69) – matching the best 56-hole effort of his career.
After starting his round 3 over through five holes, Sargent went 6 under the rest of the way – with four birdies and an eagle – to claim the victory.
