MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - WKU men's golf fired its best round since 2011 in the opening round of the Bash at the Beach at The Surf Club on Monday and sits tied for third through two rounds of competition at seven-over 575 (283-292).
The Hilltoppers' opening-round 283 was the team's best since tallying a second-round 281 at the Marshall Invitational on Sept. 12, 2011. WKU was tied with Tennessee Tech at the top of the team leaderboard after the first round of play on Monday.
"The Toppers really came out strong today and were tied for the lead after the first 18 holes, and we're looking forward to getting back into the mix of things tomorrow.
