Lady Tops' Heard named court coach for USA Basketball training camp

Western Kentucky women's basketball coach Michelle Clark-Heard has been named a court coach for the USA Basketball senior national team’s fall training camp that runs Sept. 30-Oct. 2 in Santa Barbara, Calif., her third stint with USA Basketball. The court coaches were selected by the USA Basketball Women’s National Team Steering Committee under the direction of chairwoman Carol Callan.

Heard is set to join Louisville head coach Jeff Walz, Sue Semrau of Florida State and George Washington’s Jennifer Rizzotti in the role. Heard previously served as an assistant under Walz at Louisville and also with the United States U23 National Team earlier this month in the inaugural Four Nations Tournament in Japan; in that event, the United States posted a perfect 3-0 record en route to claiming the championship with an average margin of victory of 32 points.
