For the second straight game WKU (20-6 overall, 11-2 Conference USA) held the Thundering Herd in check before the offense took off in the second half to help the Lady Toppers pull away and move into first place in the Conference USA standings.
“There were moments I thought we could have had a little more pressure and done some little things, but I was really proud of my defense,” Heard said. “I was proud of different people stepping up. This is a hard game to bounce back (after) playing your rival. Middle is always a tough team to play against and then you have come back home on a quick turnaround.
