The Western Kentucky softball team dropped its final game at the Bulldog Slamboree with a 7-0 loss to host Mississippi State on Sunday in Starkville, Miss.
Mississippi State did all its damage in two innings, tallying four runs in the first inning and adding three more in the home half of the fifth.
The Lady Toppers (8-10) didn't record a hit until the seventh inning, when Bryce Holmgren and Kelsey McGuffin hit back-to-back singles.
WKU loaded the bases in the seventh before a flyout by Brooke Holloway ended the threat.
