There’s no question Western Kentucky wanted to be in the NCAA Tournament and not the WNIT.
But when the Lady Toppers’ name wasn’t in the NCAA field and they were relegated to the second-tier WNIT, coach Michelle Clark-Heard said her team would try to make the most of the opportunity.
WKU has done that through two games. The Lady Toppers (26-6) notched home wins against Dayton on Thursday and UT Martin on Monday to advance to the third round of the 64-team tournament.
WKU will play at St. Louis at 7 p.m. Friday in a WNIT Sweet 16 matchup.
