BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A strong final round helped the WKU women’s golf team finish third in its first outing of the spring Monday at the Samford Spring Shootout.
After registering a 28-over 316 in the first round and sitting in last place, the Lady Toppers rallied with a 6-over 294 team total in the final 18 holes, tying the lowest team round of the day.
“I’m proud of the way we fought back,” WKU head coach Adam Gary said. “We were a little rusty, and it showed in the first round, but I’m pleased with how they persevered.
