Kentucky Kings, a team made up partly of former Western Kentucky standouts, received an at-large bid to The Basketball Tournament, TBT organizers announced Tuesday.
Kentucky Kings will feature four former Hilltoppers: Tyrone Brazelton, Jeremy Evans, Steffphon Pettigrew and A.J. Slaughter. Other players include former Tennessee standout and Hopkinsville native Scotty Hopson and Florida product Erving Walker.
The team's first game in the 64-team, single-elimination event will take place July 8 at Queens University in Charlotte, N.C. The $2 million, winner-take-all event concludes Aug. 3 in Baltimore.
