NEW YORK – Justin Johnson came to Western Kentucky four years ago as a kid from the mountains chasing a college basketball dream.
Johnson’s Hilltopper career ended Tuesday when WKU lost 69-64 to Utah in a National Invitation Tournament semifinal. He leaves school with his name plastered across the program’s record book.
“You know, you want to leave something better than you found it and leave an impression on it,” the senior forward said Tuesday in Madison Square Garden. “I hope to have done that.”
Johnson’s college career coincided with a transitional time for WKU basketball.
