HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – One of Western Kentucky’s Browns was out Sunday. Its other two stepped up big-time in her absence.
Sophomore forward Ivy Brown scored a career-high 26 points and freshman forward Taylor Brown added a career-high 16 in WKU’s 80-76 women's basketball win at Marshall.
The pair combined for more than half of the Lady Toppers’ points, helping fill Tashia Brown’s void. Tashia Brown, leading the team in scoring at 17.8 ppg, suffered a concussion Thursday in practice and didn’t make the road trip the Cam Henderson Center.
“Basically we know that she’s a big part of the team and we all just had to step up today and play our game no matter what,” Taylor Brown said.
