That potent combination lit up the scoreboard again Thursday night. Savage (25 points) and Hollingsworth (23) combined for 48 points in an 83-71 WKU win over Valparaiso at the Myrtle Beach Invitational.
The pair combined to go 15-of-27 from the floor, 8-of-14 from 3-point range and 10-of-15 from the free-throw line.
Coach Rick Stansbury played Hollingsworth and Savage 37 minutes each Thursday at the HTC Center, and for good reason.
Thursday, Savage went 6-of-11 from the floor, 5-of-9 from beyond the arc and 8-of-10 from the foul stripe. He also tallied three rebounds, two assists and a steal without turning the ball over once.
