MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Drew Eckels’ return to the starting lineup Friday night wasn’t enough to stop Western Kentucky’s losing streak. Neither was Steven Duncan’s attempt to rally his team off the bench.
The Hilltoppers dropped their fifth straight game Friday, losing 29-10 to Middle Tennessee at Floyd Stadium.
Dating to last season, WKU (1-8 overall, 0-5 Conference USA) has lost 10 of its last 11 games and 13 of its last 15. The Toppers are 0-5 in conference play for the first time since the 2009 squad went 0-8 in Sun Belt Conference contests.
Middle Tennessee’s victory snapped a three-game WKU win streak in the series.
