Hilltoppers grab gutsy win against Detroit

It took an entire team effort Tuesday night for Western Kentucky to put away Detroit.

Aaron Cosby scored 17 points, made six assists and was big on the defensive end. Justin Johnson collected 17 points and 12 rebounds as the Hilltoppers dominated the paint. Fredrick Edmond (14 points), Ben Lawson (10 points) and Chris McNeal (10 points, seven assists) made plays when their team needed them.

WKU’s 79-74 victory against the Titans in E.A. Diddle Arena required contributions from all those Toppers. The home team led by as much as nine points late, gave up the lead and then rallied in the end for what coach Ray Harper labeled a gutsy win.
