Western Kentucky went to Florida Atlantic this time last year and ran roughshod over the Owls. The Hilltoppers outgained FAU in offensive yards by a 661-202 margin Oct. 29, 2016, on their way to a 52-3 walloping in Boca Raton, Fla.
Now WKU (5-2 overall, 3-1 Conference USA) and Florida Atlantic (4-3, 3-0) are meeting with both teams riding hot streaks. Coach Mike Sanford’s Toppers have won four in a row while coach Lane Kiffin’s Owls have won three straight, including a 69-31 pasting last week of North Texas.
Positioning in the C-USA title chase will be on the line when the teams meet Saturday at Houchens-Smith Stadium.
