Hilltoppers commit series of miscues, fall in key C-USA contest

Western Kentucky controlled the first three quarters Saturday against Florida Atlantic, but turnovers and other miscues kept the Hilltoppers from putting the game away.

FAU scored 22 unanswered points in the final period to beat WKU 42-28 at Houchens-Smith Stadium.

Owls running back Devin “Motor” Singletary lived up to his nickname, rushing for 244 yards on 36 carries – 6.8 yards per carry – with four touchdown gallops. His fourth-quarter TD runs of 60 and 5 yards were sandwiched around a go-ahead, 49-yard scoring strike from Jason Driskel to Willie Wright that gave Florida Atlantic a 35-28 lead.
