The Hilltoppers appeared as a No. 13 seed in the Midwest Region in Lunardi’s first projected 2020 NCAA Tournament bracket, which the ESPN analyst published Monday night.
WKU hasn’t been to the NCAAs since 2013. Its current six-year tournament drought is the longest in the program’s modern era.
Lunardi projects the Toppers to earn Conference USA’s automatic berth in next year’s tourney. WKU has fallen one game short of that bid twice under coach Rick Stansbury, losing in both the 2018 and ‘19 C-USA Tournament title games.
WKU is projected by Lunardi to face No. 4 seed Iowa State in a first-round game in Sacramento, Calif.
