Western Kentucky’s bye week has been a chance for the current Hilltopper team to refresh and recharge before the final two months of the season.
It’s also been an important chance for WKU’s coaching staff to hit the road in search of future Toppers.
WKU (2-2) was set to have all its full-time coaches on the road Friday night watching high school football games. That included coach Mike Sanford, who had plans to drive Friday across Tennessee, getting familiar with prospects in that state.
“Bye weeks are awesome,” Sanford said Thursday. “It’s an opportunity to better your football team but also to better your roster for the future.
