Tyson Helton’s promise of a deep passing attack took full form in Western Kentucky’s first full scrimmage of spring practice. Xavier Lane hauled in long balls, the quarterbacks managed situations to the coach’s approval and the defense forced turnovers and made stops.
Everything is right on Helton’s schedule two weeks before the annual spring game April 13.
“We’re right where I thought we’d be,” Helton said. “Now, we’ve got a long way to go, but they’re seeing it and they’re processing it pretty quickly. It’s about where I thought it would be.”
WKU finished off its third week of spring football with a full contact scrimmage that was moved up a day due to inclement weather moving in Saturday.
