Western Kentucky’s 14-game winning streak is over. But the Lady Toppers’ goals are still ahead of them.
That was the point WKU coach Michelle Clark-Heard emphasized on her weekly radio show Monday night.
Her Lady Toppers lost for the first time since Dec. 2 on Saturday, falling 83-75 at rival Middle Tennessee. The loss snapped the fourth-longest winning streak in WKU history and put the team’s record at 17-3 overall and 8-1 in Conference USA.
Heard said Monday that winning 14 consecutive regular-season games was “great” and “awesome.”
But one close road loss to snap that streak isn’t going to derail her team’s goals, she added.
