Western Kentucky rallied from a 12-point deficit to tie the Lady Monarchs at 68-68 at the end of regulation. Sophomore forward Tashia Brown knew WKU was in control of the game heading to overtime.
“We were pretty confident because we knew we had them rattled and we knew we had all the momentum,” she told the Daily News in a phone interview.
Sure enough, the Lady Toppers rolled in the extra period. They outscored ODU 17-6 in overtime on their way to a gritty 85-74 win in Norfolk, Va.
It was the first overtime game of the season for WKU (20-4 overall, 11-2 Conference USA) and first since a win at Hofstra back on Nov.
