Western Kentucky knows it let a chance to beat Middle Tennessee get away in the teams’ first meeting.
The Lady Toppers led the Blue Raiders by as many as eight points in the third quarter at the Murphy Center, looking poised to continue a 14-game winning streak and stay unbeaten in Conference USA.
But WKU couldn’t get stops in the fourth quarter, getting outscored 28-16 over the final 10 minutes. That led to an 83-75 MTSU victory.
“I think just defensively we had them in the third quarter and then we… just let them get easy buckets and offensive rebound after offensive rebound,” sophomore forward Ivy Brown said Tuesday.
