The WKU chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has created the “Mitchell Henry Leadership Award” in remembrance of former WKU tight end Mitchell Henry.
The award, which was established in conjunction with the Henry family and the Mitchell Henry Foundation, honors Henry’s life and legacy.
Henry, who starred at Elizabethtown High School prior to his time on the Hill, was a notable tight end for the Hilltoppers from 2011-14. Henry racked up 1,094 yards on 78 catches with 12 touchdowns in his WKU career.
Henry played in 47 games with 22 starts during his four-year tenure, helping WKU secure its first winning season at the FBS level (2011), first FBS bowl appearance (2012) and first FBS bowl win (2014).
