Western Kentucky has two junior college transfers in the starting lineup.
But coach Ray Harper thinks there may be a misconception that JUCO talent comes ready-made for the Division I level.
"JUCO kids, for example, they've never done a scouting report," Harper said. "It usually takes them a little bit of time."
The Hilltoppers dug into the JUCO ranks for talent last offseason and found some pieces, including starting junior guard Fredrick Edmond and junior forward Anton Waters.
WKU also picked up junior forward Phabian Glasco, but he ruptured his Achilles tendon in the preseason and is out for the year.
