Garrett Jennings, an offensive lineman from Elizabethton (Tenn.) High School, confirmed Saturday to the Daily News that he’s committed to the Hilltoppers.
Jennings, 6-foot-7 and 317 pounds, plays both left and right tackle for his high school, which sits east of Johnson City, Tenn., and just south of the Tennessee-Virginia border.
The lineman said WKU became aware of him when his high school coach sent his junior year tapes to the Hilltopper coaching staff. Running backs coach Mike Sanford Sr. was his primary recruiter, while he also got to know offensive line coach TJ Woods.
Jennings said he chose WKU over offers from Alabama-Birmingham and FCS schools Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee-Martin.
