Brohm, Doughty finish in top five of Ky. Sportsman of the Year

Western Kentucky quarterback Brandon Doughty finished third in the 2015 Lexington Herald-Leader Kentucky Sportsman of the Year voting, as announced Tuesday in Lexington. WKU coach Jeff Brohm finished fourth.

Triple Crown winner American Pharoah won the award, making him the first horse to claim the honor. Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari finished second after leading the Wildcats to a Final Four and 38-1 record last season.

This is the first time two WKU representatives have finished in the top five in the same year. Former WKU golfer Kenny Perry is a two-time winner.
