The WKU men's basketball team defeated the University of Alabama, Birmingham 88-77 in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA tournament on Thursday.
Junior guard Fredrick Edmond led the team with 19 points. Sophomore forward Justin Johnson notched a double-double on the evening, scoring 14 points and pulling down 15 rebounds.
WKU advances to the semifinals of the CUSA tournament, and will face the winner of Old Dominion vs. Louisiana Tech.
