Western Kentucky will face the defending national champion Alabama next season.
The Hilltoppers make a Sept. 10 trip to face the Crimson Tide, which beat Clemson 45-40 in the national championship game Monday.
This is the second time in four years that WKU will face a reigning champion Alabama squad. The Tops lost 35-0 in Tuscaloosa, Ala., in 2012 after the Tide won the national title in 2011. They also went on to win it in 2012.
“We look forward to having a great nonconference schedule, and we look forward to playing those teams,” WKU coach Jeff Brohm said last month.
