KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – To cap off the four-game road trip, WKU (8-4) shutout Tennessee (7-4), 6-0, in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Tuesday to claim its first road win over the Volunteers in school history.
In the victory, the Hilltoppers pounded out 16 hits, with three individuals having at least four hits, while limiting the Vols to just five. This was the ninth contest this season where WKU racked up double-digit hits and out-hit its opponent. The five hits were also the lowest allowed by the Hilltoppers this season, which came against a Tennessee team that was averaging 11.
