His love of the Mountaineers led him to West Virginia University in the fall of 1965, and then eventually to a long and distinguished athletic training career that has spanned the last 40 years at WVU alone.
Tuesday, June 30 will be his last official day working in intercollegiate athletics. Spiker said he plans on spending more time with his family - wife Sabra, daughter, Heather, sons Tim and Zach, and their six children – while also tending to his growing rehabilitation clinic, HealthWorks Rehab and Fitness, which now spans six different locations in North Central West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
