MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia second baseman Kyle Gray ended the regular season among the conference leaders in homers, batting and slugging and earned a spot on the All-Big 12 team Tuesday.
On the eve of the conference tournament in Oklahoma City, he ranks third in the league home runs (14), second in slugging (.685) and third in batting (.364). A junior, Gray had a career-long 23-game hitting streak that stretched from April to mid-May.
The Mountaineers’ other postseason notables were second-team outfielder Darius Hill and all-freshman third baseman Tyler Doanes.
