WVU women bounce Longwood 74-43 for 6th straight victory

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Bria Holmes scored 19 points, Teana Muldrow chipped in 14 and West Virginia crushed Longwood 74-43 in women’s basketball action Wednesday night at the WVU Coliseum.

The Mountaineers (8-2), who won their sixth straight, opened the first quarter with a 21-7 edge and never trailed. The Lancers (2-7) never drew closer than 18 points in the second half.

West Virginia has won 23 consecutive home games against non-conference opponents.

Lanay Montgomery narrowly missed a double-double after recording 10 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Senior Arielle Roberson also had a chance at a double-double after scoring a season-high nine points and collecting nine rebounds.
