The West Virginia baseball team opened up Big 12 play in Waco, Texas, this weekend with a three-game set against No. 10 Baylor. WVU defeated Baylor in the first two games and dropped the final on Sunday.
WVU improved to 10-8 on the season and started their Big 12 slate strongly. WVU won the first game 7-1, the second 6-5 and lost the third 5-1. The series gave WVU a 4-1 record against top-25 teams.
The series loss was the first for Baylor all season and the two home losses were also second and third for the Bears.
