BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The West Virginia University golf team is tied for eighth place overall at 10 over par after one official round of play at the Mountaineer Intercollegiate on Monday. The Mountaineers are hosting the event at Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport.
Due to a fog delay, the tournament started about an hour late. Teams completed the first round this afternoon, but the second round was called due to darkness with four three to four holes remaining for most golfers. West Virginia is unofficially tied for fifth at the end of play on Monday.
“I felt like we came back in the second round,” said coach Sean Covich.
