MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior Garrett Spurgeon and freshman Ginny Thrasher of the No. 1-ranked West Virginia University rifle team earned top-10 finishes at the USA Shooting Winter Airgun Championships, held today at the Olympic Training Center, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Spurgeon shot a three-day relay total of 1885.6 in the 10m men’s air rifle open competition, while Thrasher shot a 1248.9 in the 10m women’s air rifle open competition.
Spurgeon shot a 622.3 mark today to place third overall in the 10m men’s air rifle open competition. He finished second in the final and earned seven additional points for his finish.
