The WVU soccer teams find themselves climbing the polls in this week’s United Soccer Coaches poll. The women’s team moved up three spots to No. 3 and the men’s team, after forcing their way in last week, find themselves at No. 14.
Nikki Izzo-Brown’s squad knocked off former No. 1 Penn State, 2-1, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium, on Saturday. Sh’nia Gordon’s volley gave the Mountaineers the breakthrough, but Lauren Segalla slotted home the eventual game-winner 37 minutes in. The Mountaineers followed that with a 2-0 home win over Wright State on Monday.
