MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Despite poor weather conditions throughout the first round, the West Virginia University golf team is off to a solid start at the VCU Janney Shootout, hosted by the Rams at the Country Club of Virginia on Monday in Richmond.
The Mountaineers shot a team score of 286 for two under par and sit tied for seventh after one round. WVU has now broken par in three of their first four rounds of the season. Virginia Tech is 12 under and in first with a 276, followed by James Madison (279) and East Carolina (281).
