WVU senior faces DUI charges after Saturday night crash

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia starting left guard Adam Pankey was charged with driving under the influence after his car flipped in a crash late Saturday night, police said.

Emergency responders and Morgantown police, called to the scene on the 300 block of Stewart Street, discovered a 2008 Chrysler Sebring overturned with Pankey still inside.

Pankey, 22 of Hamilton, Ohio, received minor injuries, cuts and lacerations to the face but was not transported to the hospital.

Police reports showed Pankey with a blood-alcohol level of .147, nearly double the legal limit of .08 in West Virginia.
