MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –The West Virginia University rowing team posted four top-five finishes and won four medals, including a gold, at the Head of the Occoquan in Fairfax Station, Virginia, on Saturday.
Eight of the Mountaineers’ 10 boats posted top-10 finishes on Saturday on the Occoquan Reservoir. WVU’s four medals came with first and second-place finishes in the Women’s Collegiate Novice 4+, a bronze medal finish in the Women’s Collegiate Novice 8 and a fifth-place finish in the Women’s Championship 4+. The two WVU crews that took home gold and silver in the novice 4+ also teamed up to earn the bronze in the novice 8 event.
